Hermit’s Cove: A Hidden Paradise in Aloguinsan, Cebu

Dreaming of pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and a relaxing escape? Look no further than Hermit’s Cove, a little slice of paradise nestled in Aloguinsan, Cebu.

Secluded Serenity

Unlike Cebu’s more tourist-heavy beaches, Hermit’s Cove offers a serene atmosphere. Its remoteness, once a haven for hermits (hence the name!), now translates into a tranquil beach experience. Imagine soft, white sand between your toes and the calming sound of waves lapping at the shore.

Best place to Hide from the sun

One of the main concerns people have with Hermit’s Cove is that there can be very little shade from the sun if you don’t score a cottage. In our experience, if you can get a spot where the red arrow is here in the picture. You will be in the shade almost the entire day. Pro Tip – If you bring a thick blanket (the rocks are very sharp) you can put it on the rocks to make some built in seating.

Beach Bliss on a Budget

Hermit’s Cove is a public beach, meaning you can enjoy its beauty without breaking the bank. There’s a 100 peso entrance fee for the adults, and local vendors offer delicious Cebuano fare at affordable prices.

Activities for Everyone

While relaxation is certainly the main draw, there’s more to do at Hermit’s Cove than just sunbathing. Take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters, go for a stroll along the shoreline, or try your hand at building sandcastles.

Things to Consider

While Hermit’s Cove boasts undeniable beauty, there are a few things to keep in mind. Some reviews mention limited shade options and a presence of boats on part of the beach. (If you stay on the entrance side there are no boats) Additionally, as with many public beaches, amenities might be limited compared to private resorts.

Hidden Shower Spot!

If you are looking to wash off the sand and sea water, you can venture off to this location where you get Unli Water for 15 pesos. They basically pull the water from a well and give you a bucket and tabo.
